OverviewOne Agency, One Mission: Public Safety The
Larimer County Sheriff's Office seeks a detail-oriented individual to join our
Jail Control Room Specialist team . In this role, you will be responsible for controlling access to and monitoring movement within the Larimer County Jail. Your attention to detail will ensure that all incoming personnel are properly verified and cleared to enter the facility. Additionally, you will monitor fire alarms and other safety systems to maintain a secure environment.
ResponsibilitiesThe following statements illustrate the duties and responsibilities of the job. The organization retains the right to modify or change the duties and responsibilities of the job at any time.
Essential Functions- Both visually and auditorily monitor activities throughout the facility via cameras and intercoms.
- Controls all entrance and exit points to the facility; controls movement within the facility.
- Remotely operates failed security doors.
- Utilizes pack sets and base radio to relay messages and ensures communication between personnel is received and understood.
- Utilizes public address system to make emergency and general announcements.
- Maintains keys and key log in the control room.
- May operate CCIC/NCIC computer system.
- May monitor access to the Larimer County Justice Center.
- Ensures all control room equipment is operable; reports maintenance problems as necessary.
- Answers telephones and takes independent action as necessary.
- Monitors fire annunciator and deal with any alarms as necessary.
- Accurately documents events.
- Brief oncoming Jail Control Room Specialists concerning activities during the previous shift.
- Maintains security of work area.
- Communicates effectively via phone or intercom with inmates, professional visitors, and the public by providing information and directions.
- Conducts visual and audio surveillance of the Jail for extended periods.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with agency personnel.
- Possesses the ability to multitask.
Nonessential Functions- When the Board of Commissioners declares a local declaration of emergency or disaster, all Larimer County employees may be required to work as a Disaster Service Worker.
- Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for the performance of the job.
Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Other Information to Note: An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
