RoleUnder general supervision, performs work of average difficulty in the operation of transfer station equipment and in the operation, maintenance, and repair of county transfer station facilities.
Major Duties, Responsibilities- Measures and determines tire loads and charging accordingly. Collects and disposes of solid waste and dead animals from county rights-of-way, assists in removal and disposal of dead trees from county right of way and other property, and assists in abatement of hazard waste sites. Handles cash, gives change, and maintains daily written logs.
- Operates motor vehicles and equipment not requiring a CDL.
- Assists in community clean-up operations,
- Assists in collection and disposal of waste, tires, and appliances.
- Assists in construction and maintenance of transfers stations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Work Environment: The work environment is associated with a field environment year-round in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loud noise, dangerous emergency situations, hazardous waste, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, walk over rough, uneven, and/or rocky surfaces, and lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
