    The Water Operations- Aqueduct Division intends to fill one (1) Senior Administrative Clerk position.

    The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Performs complex clerical work requiring frequent exercise of independent judgment. Responsible for verification of accurate time entry/coding for various work schedules including, but not limited to, 5/40, 9/80, and continuous shift; transmits time daily; overtime entries/comments; researches and corrects timekeeping errors and processing of daily timekeeping data documents, and PANs as reported by Water Operations - Aqueduct staff.

    Ensures and completes reporting of time each pay period. Prepares, types, processes and maintains files for timekeeping records, which includes various types of temporary assignments, leaves of absence, and time roll correction authorities; prepares timekeeping reports; performs duties with high level of confidentiality; and enters equipment time (fleet). Prepares and processes off-system travel plans, makes contract lodging reservations (on- system travel), and prepares monthly mileage reimbursement requests. May procure and maintain stationary supplies for office and staff. Interfaces and provides high level of customer service to internal and external customers; serves as a backup timekeeper for co-workers in their absence; and works as a team to accomplish assignments and projects and performs other related duties. May be assigned other work within the Section for cross- training purposes and to meet operating needs. Travel and overtime may be required.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Ability:
    • Knowledge of LADWP rules, policies and procedures, organization and functions, Working Rules, MOUs, Civil Service Rules, and general office practices regarding timekeeping, personnel, and record-keeping procedures.
    • Knowledge of and ability to use of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access), Worktech, EIS, HRMS, and IMS.
    • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
    • Ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully, and effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.

    Minimum Requirements:

    A minimum of one (1) year of full-time paid office clerical experience.

    Due consideration will be given to relevant work experience, education, and attendance record. The positions of Senior Administrative Clerk in the Water Operations Division require a valid Class C driver's license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Candidates will not be eligible for appointment to these positions if their DMV record within the last 36 months reflects three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents, or a conviction of a major moving violation (such as DUI).
