    Supply Services Division has one Accountant position available at:

    555 Ramirez Street Space 312, Los Angeles, CA; 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 9/80 schedule

    Requirements:

    Applicants must be currently at the level of an Accountant with experience in financials and systems.

    Job Description:
    • Prepare and process accounting documents related to purchasing and accounts payable; reconcile and validate accounting transactions; resolve transaction exceptions and ensure compliance with the City’s purchasing and disbursement policies and procedures;
    • Track status of requisitions, purchase orders, payment vouchers and disbursements; monitor match and budget exceptions on a daily basis; analyze orders/invoices without receivers and/or corresponding transactions;
    Generate and analyze various procurement and disbursement reports;
    Prepare periodic statistical reports ;
    Interact with various Departments, Divisions and the Public;
    • Supervise and evaluate the work of other Payment Services staff; and train staff on financial issues related to the Supply Management System and other procedures.

    Accountants will be expected to have:
    • Knowledge of City Charter, Administrative Code, policies and procedures in budgeting organization, personnel management, purchasing and financial administration; FMS and related purchasing and accounts payable tables; and working knowledge of basic computer-based business applications; knowledge of FMS preferred.
    • Ability to maintain records and prepare accurate, concise reports and specifications; coordinate and organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines and produce accurate output; and exercise independent judgement;
    • Good verbal; written and interpersonal skills.

    Supervision will be provided from the Senior Accountant. Work is assigned verbally and in writing and reviewed for accuracy and content. The successful candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
