    Solano County is seeking Psychiatrists to join the Behavioral Health Division!

    Solano County's Behavioral Health mission is to provide mental health services and support in Solano County that are person-centered, safe, effective, efficient, timely and equitable, that are supported by friends and community, that promote wellness/recovery, and that fully incorporate shared decision making between consumers, family members and providers.

    Solano County Behavioral Health dedicates itself to the care of Solano residents to help them remain in the community so that they can progress in their recovery and benefit from natural supports, avoiding institutionalization. Behavioral Health provides psychiatric services to Solano Community in an integrated health care environment in three adult and child outpatient clinics located in Vallejo, Fairfield, and Vacaville.

    Our Services: In addition to outpatient psychiatric services, the Behavioral Health Division offers the following to its clients:

    • Outpatient Psychotherapy
    • Case Management
    • A.C.T. and TIP model services (Full Service Partnerships)
    • Wellness Centers
    • Consumer and Family Support

    THE POSITION
    • This position provides regular Monday through Friday hours
    • On-call time is not required, the County offers 24/7 crisis services through a contracted Crisis Stabilization Unit
    • Flexible schedules available

    Clinic Psychiatrists generally schedule patients for 6.5 hours of an 8 hour work day. Unscheduled time allows for documentation time, telephone calls, or other activities. Administrative support is provided by Medical Assistants and Office Assistants, though the County provides psychiatrists training and the psychiatrist is expected to complete appropriate documentation in the electronic health record for maximum efficiency.

    Psychiatrists perform psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses of assigned clients; develop, monitor, and evaluate appropriate treatment plans associated with psychotropic medication strategies and other support services for out-patient clients; perform and monitor a variety of administrative tasks/functions in support of assigned program areas/division services; provide psychiatric consultation or guidance to PA or NP colleagues; and participate as a psychiatric resource/member of inter-disciplinary program teams within the Division/Health and Social Services Department.

    SALARY
    Psychiatrist: $310,840.41 - $377,828.14/year
    Psychiatrist Board Certified: $318,611.88 - $387,275.04/year

    The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.

    Position Requirements

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


    Successful completion of a three or four-year psychiatry residency program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

    Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance, which includes a valid license as a physician and surgeon issued by the state of California.

    AND

    For Board Certified Psychiatrist: Possession of a valid certification by the American Board of Psychiatry.

    Special Requirements

    May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
    A Medical Degree and a valid license as a physician and surgeon issued by the state of California are required for this position. All applicants are encouraged to submit either a copy of their degree (verifying the degree, date earned and area of specialization) or transcripts (official/unofficial verifying the student, institution, and the date and degree conferred) by the final filing deadline. However, proof of this education requirement must be submitted prior to appointment.
