JOB SUMMARY The Town of Prosper is currently seeking qualified and dedicated individual
for the position of:
Human Resources Intern Temporary The HR intern assists the Human Resources department with various administrative tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, employee record maintenance, and general HR compliance, providing practical experience in different aspects of human resources while gaining exposure to company policies and practices.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this position. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties in this description and incumbent(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description Supervision Received and Exercised:- Receives general direction from the Human Resources Director.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
Writes employee communications and correspondence about updates in HR policies
Assists in checking overall compliance with labor codes and applicable local and state laws
Participates and assists in career days and company social and networking events
Performs ad hoc tasks as required
Assist with ERP conversion
Update company databases by inputting new employee records.
Screening resumes and application forms to identify prospective employees to fill company job vacancies.
Post job advertisements on job boards and social media platforms.
Assist the HR staff in filling employment forms and gathering market salary information.
Assist in upcoming Compensation Market Study
Assist in organizing company events.
Send job offers and rejection letters to candidates.
Respond to the HR team, employee benefits, and other Human Resources related matters
Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Ability to:- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
- Handle information restricted to specific persons and confidentiality of information
- Interprets handbooks and uses the information to assist others.
- Read and understand technical manuals, policies and procedures, system documentation, etc.
- Write clear and concise memos in non-technical terminology to brief managers, supervisors and other employees.
- Use computer and various software programs.
- Handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
- Analyze data and solve problems diplomatically and effectively.
- Plan and organize work effectively and efficiently.
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Position is part time up to 20 Hours per week and will last for approximately 6 months
