    Job Summary

    This is a professional-level position responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating City of Orlando events. Responsibilities include budgeting, managing sponsorships and event partnerships, as well as vendor agreements and contracts. Primary duties include event production and promotion of city special events including Mayor’s signature events, city initiatives, programs and services. This position is responsible for the communications and marketing of the Mayor's signature events. The role works closely with the Mayor's Office, elected officials, and senior staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Communications and Events Supervisor and is reviewed through discussions, reports submitted, and results obtained.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Advertising, Journalism (public relations emphasis), or related field plus four (4) years of marketing and event management experience preferably in the general public realm. Experience in all aspects of event logistics; to include sponsorships and budgeting required. Valid Florida Driver's License required at time of employment.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
