What You'll Be DoingWake County Health and Human Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate to fill the role of
Community Outreach and Engagement Program Manager! As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing strategies to address the health needs of our most vulnerable residents while connecting community outreach strategies and activities across the Public Health Division and the Department of Health and Human Services. The position directly supervises program staff and reports to the Population Health Director.
Essential Functions Include:
- Establishes relationships with community partners, including faith-based organizations, across the County to ensure health equity
- Finds and leads community outreach opportunities in underserved areas of Wake County
- Supervises and leads a team of staff providing outreach activities in the community
- Works with staff to develop strategies, including technology, that improve policies and practices that advance health equity
- Utilizes data to identify emerging trends and community issues to develop and recommend culturally appropriate programming and resources. Advises and communicates with senior management
- Evaluates program policies and processes. Contributes in the writing of grants and assurance of county/state and federal funding

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree In Public Health, Human Services or a related field

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Masters Degree in Public Health, Administration or related field
- Demonstrated professional background in public health and ability to develop plans that address health disparities
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and daily responsibilities
- Knowledge of service evaluation and data collection methodologies
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working with a culturally diverse population
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Five years management experience
