We seek an experienced classification and compensation professional to support our compensation and classification efforts! - Participate in developing a sustainable, data-driven classification and compensation strategy based on workforce, labor market, and economic trends.
- Participate in assessing public and private sector salary data to inform a competitive classification and compensation strategy across state government.
- Perform market pricing analysis.
- Participate in the research and ongoing development of best practices for classification and compensation.
- Partner with internal and external customers to fulfill ad hoc classification and compensation requests.
- Analyze current classification and compensation processes and identify existing/potential problems to help with process improvements.
- Work with large amounts of data and create visually appealing data displays.
- Collaborate with business partners to resolve classification and compensation issues and achieve desired outcomes.
- Perform job analysis and evaluation.
- Develop content for classification and compensation-related training and education for leaders to enable the effective utilization of budgeted dollars to promote workforce recruitment and retention.
- Partner with benefits providers to develop a total rewards strategy and communication plan
- Conduct salary surveys and analyze data to determine necessary market adjustments.
- Study and track economic indicators and trends, among other factors, to ensure the State of Missouri provides competitive salary structures.
- Monitor team member salaries to determine if inequities exist among classifications.
- Analyze trends in compensation and develop understanding through reporting.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders on classification and compensation discussions, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Competency in classification and compensation best practices and procedures.
- Understanding of benchmarking, compa-ratio, economic indicators, aging of market data, and other essential compensation functions.
- Ability to prepare classification and compensation recommendations with supporting documentation.
- Skilled in researching, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create charts, Pivot Tables, formulas, etc.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Working knowledge of classification and compensation best practices and procedures.
- Understanding of benchmarking, compa-ratio, economic indicators, aging of market data, and other key compensation functions.
- Ability to prepare classification and compensation recommendations with supporting documentation.
- Skilled in researching, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets.
- High proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep Builder, and Qualtrics.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
