The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, natural gas, steam, water and sewer utilities in Missouri. We ensure that Missourians receive safe and reliable utility services at just, reasonable and affordable rates. The Manufactured Housing Department is responsible by statute, Chapter 700, for the annual registrations of manufacturers, dealers, and installers of manufactured homes and modular units sold within the State. Manufactured Housing is the State Administrative Agency (SAA) for the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and is responsible for prescribing and enforcing uniform construction standards; the installation of manufactured homes and modular classrooms; approving plans for modular units; and enforcing tie-down anchoring requirements.
- Perform a variety of responsible and complex clerical tasks.
- Handle and route telephone calls and written inquiries.
- Process registration for manufacturers, dealers, and installers.
- Process manufactured home and commercial unit plan approvals and seals and installer decal requests.
- Receive and process consumer complaints.
- Maintain and update databases.
- Prepare periodic summaries and reports, data entry of monthly reports and letter mail merging.
- Position may require occasional in-state travel for training purposes.
- Graduation from high school and four years of responsible secretarial experience including one year at an advanced level or two years above the entry level.
- A current documented typing score of 45 net words per minute must be on file or verified through a testing process (typing test located on PSC internet page “Typing Test - Lead Administrative Support Assistant”).
- Personal computer experience, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and specific experience in MS Word, Excel, and Access required.
- Must be customer and team focused with the ability to work harmoniously with others at all levels of the Commission and the public.
