    Assistant School Services Director for Area Operations

    Annual Salary: 55,128.00

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    The incumbent must have the ability to perform the essential functions below either with or without reasonable accommodation.

    1. Coordinate recruiting, selection, and employment of qualified staff.

    2. Manage procedural and regulatory responsibilities for purchasing supplies, equipment and services for area school operations.

    3. Manage standardized reporting requirements of area operations for compliance with established administrative procedures.

    4. Manage area staff compliance with personnel policy provisions and administrative guidelines associated with leave privileges.

    5. Coordinate area office electronic reporting systems through monitoring accuracy of data input and helping develop reporting formats to be used in area offices and schools.

    6. Manage day-to-day area office operations and supervise area support secretarial staff.

    7. Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, using correct grammar, punctuation, clarity and consistency of thought.

    8. Demonstrate problem solving and decision making skills.

    9. Provide staff development for secretaries in area schools, area office, or other area staff as requested.

    10. Assist schools and area office with computer issues.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Plan, organize and execute office operations.

    2. Use performance appraisal system appropriately.

    3. Maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

    4. Service as area resource for computer systems and operations.

    5. Lift and move 50 pounds.

    6. Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION REQUIRED/PREFERRED:

    1. Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a degree in school or business administration.

    2. Two years experience in a supervisory role with decision-making authority.

    3. Working knowledge of computer technology and applications.

    (Other qualifications and experience which, in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education, meet the requirements of the position may be accepted in lieu of the above.)
