OverviewWe need a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic, and inclusive staff member to join our Benefits and Community Support Division as an Administrative Specialist!
The Administrative Specialist will help staff a phone team and answer basic questions for clients about their assistance programs (Food Assistance, Medicaid, Colorado Works, etc). This position works as part of a team expected to deliver excellent customer service while also answering a large volume of daily calls. This position will also require interaction with the public for long periods over the phone and will transfer calls to more skilled technicians as required. This position requires a very structured schedule, including breaks and lunches.

The expected starting salary for this position is: Administrative Specialist I - $19.13-$20.50/hour, Administrative Specialist II - $21.03-$22.50/hour.
ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, this position:
- Delivers excellent customer service while also answering a large volume of calls per day.
- Routes inquiries appropriately for more complex matters and interpretation issues, and transfers calls to more skilled technicians as needed.
- Interprets County/departmental polices, rules, and regulations in response to inquiries.
- Conducts research and runs standard reports as needed.
- Accepts and processes plans, specifications, forms, reports, legal documents, applications, or similar materials in accordance with legal and procedural requirements.
- Composes and prepares replies to a variety of communications when information is factual in nature or involves matters of established policies, procedures, or standard practices.
- Enters data and maintains computer systems or databases; proofs data entry and corrects errors.

QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
This position could hire as Administrative Specialist I or Administrative Specialist II depending on qualifications.
Administrative Specialist I
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.
Administrative Specialist II
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One (1) year experience as an Administrative Specialist I or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.
