The Court Visitor Coordinator supervises the statutorily mandated Court Visitor Program. The position conducts court visits and recruits court volunteers to perform yearly court visits for Wards in existing guardianships cases. Responsible for interviewing and inspection of the Ward, guardian and/or care giver, investigating guardianship applications as needed and assisting Court staff in monitoring existing guardianship cases for compliance with statutory guidelines.
Examples of Duties
Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers to serve in the Court Visitor Program, ensuring the Wards under the Court's jurisdiction receive their legislatively mandated court visit.
Conducts court visits to Wards in existing guardianships cases and make assessments concerning the care, protection and well-being of each Ward.
Assigns volunteers to make yearly visits to the Wards at their place of residence and conduct interviews of the guardian and caregiver.
Prepares and files Evaluation Reports containing written findings and recommendations to the Court resulting from each court visit of a Ward.
Identifies and makes written recommendations to the Court concerning issues identified by the Court Volunteers in their Evaluation Reports for appropriate Court action.
Investigates guardianship applications, as needed, and assists Court Staff in monitoring existing guardianship cases for compliance with statutory guidelines.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree required and a minimum three years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Requires a valid Driver License.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field preferred. Two years minimum experience in probate or guardianship law preferred
