Why you will love this position:This position helps the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DOLIR) divisions with procurement request for supplies/commodities. The position will encompass serving all of DOLIR. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Department remains in compliance with the procurement statutes and regulations.
What you will do: - Act as the subject matter expert for questions from staff and vendors regarding MissouriBUYS (the statewide procurement database).
- Train new staff in the utilization of MissouriBUYS.
- Review procurement requests submitted prior to approving for compliance with Department guidelines.
- Place orders with vendors within established statewide contracts.
- Assist with establishing Department contracts.
- Provide training and resources to agency staff on procurement policies and procedures.
- Assist divisions with department requirements for bids over departments delegation authority.
- Work with designated staff to secure out-of-state travel arrangements including flights and lodging.
- Act as the liaison and procure meeting space, food, drink, etc. for team members wanting to establish in-person meetings.
All you need for success: Qualifications - 5 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience

Desired Attributes - Working knowledge and experience in MissouriBUYS (Statewide procurement database)
- Experience in SAM II Financial (Statewide financial database)
- Knowledge of procurement statute (RSMo Chapter 34)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detailed oriented, team player, ability to meet deadlines, and adaptable to changes
- Open to learning new systems as the state is going to MOVERS (a new procurement/financial database)
- Self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities
