Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Educator Certification issues educator certificates to all educators who work in the state’s school systems, as well as assisting with the review of certificate-holders who are charged with misconduct.- Retrieves background check information (rap sheets) from MACHS system and appropriately categorizes and transfers data to DESE web applications system.
- Accurately interprets rap sheet information to determine initial clearance status.
- Creates, maintains, and monitors discipline case files.
- Assists with background investigations by discretely and confidentially requesting court, school, and/or Missouri and Non-Missouri state agency documentation.
- Scans and files of documentation received from educators, school districts, court systems, etc.
- Answers and/or directs certification (call center) telephone calls.
- Answers and/or directs Conduct and Investigation telephone calls and correspondence.
- Digitize and update archived discipline files.
- Maintains the background check and discipline information provided on the certification website.
- Assists in providing responses to conduct and investigation and educator certification emails.
- Provides assistance to school districts, universities/colleges, and individuals on discipline procedures and the status of educators’ certificates.
- Collects, verifies, and enters data for issuance of teaching certificates.
- Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and heavy seasonal workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:- Graduated from high school or High School Equivalency.
- One or more years’ experience in clerical or secretarial work.
