As the Assistant Human Resources Director, you will plan, direct, and manage staff, projects, and initiatives for multiple divisions and functions within the Human Resources Department, including Payroll, HR Systems, HR Call Center, Employee and Position Transactions, Records Management, Timekeeping, Benefits Inquiries and Troubleshooting, Laws related to HR, and other areas as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to focus on leveraging programs and technology to improve operational and transactional services and be a strategic partner with the HR Director. The Assistant Human Resources Director serves as a key management and leadership role while providing recommendations to improve Human Resources administration, procedures, policies, and programs.
Your focus will be to:
- Design, develop, and implement transformative practices and programs that align with the County’s strategic goals
- Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships, assessing and responding to customer needs
- Develop and present key human resource initiatives, projects, and policy updates to senior and extended leaders throughout the organization
- Assess the needs of the work unit or project, determine any gaps, and recommend changes in procedures, workflow and work assignments to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Plan, forecast, evaluate, and direct the work of assigned functional areas. Assist division managers with determining and implementing goals and objectives

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Six years of experience in human resources administration, including at least three years of supervisory experience
- Equivalent education and experience will be accepted
- Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Six or more years in public sector human resources management or leadership
- Experience directly managing multiple HR functions or divisions
- Experience overseeing HR managers and supervisors
- Extensive experience with human resources systems
- Relevant HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, PSHRA, etc.

Market Range: 111,769.00 - 201,192.00
