    Job Location: This position will be located at 1706 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65102

    This position reports to the Crisis Services Coordinator. This senior position is accountable for day-to-day assistance for crisis services programming, providing administrative, operational, and technical program support, and serving as a cross-trained member of the team for other crisis-related programming. The Senior Crisis Services Specialist will participate as a lead contributing team member, responsible for participating in complex state projects and large-scale crisis initiative and program improvements, presenting recommendations and building on others’ ideas, and performing assignments under the general guidance and advice from colleagues and supervisor. This position will support the implementation and sustainability of Missouri’s statewide comprehensive and integrated crisis services programming.     • Participates in the development, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of crisis services programing and/or services through developing and interpreting policy and procedures; monitoring and reporting program accomplishments; and serving as a Mobile Crisis Response and Emergency Room Enhancement program liaison for behavioral health providers.
    • Ensures compliance with regulations and guidelines; reviews crisis services program agency records and
    • Assists in the design of crisis programs and services including identifying target populations, establishing program goals and objectives, obtaining funding, and implementing and monitoring program activities.
    • Interprets data and prepares reports on crisis program accomplishments, activities, and needs; makes recommendations for program or services changes.
    • Reviews crisis services provider policies, procedures, safety plans, records, data, and service delivery systems.
    • Assists with reviewing, monitoring, and/or writing grant proposals; prepares award recommendations; compiles and reports on data; and collects, monitors and reports on grant recipient activities.
    • Trains departmental and vendor staff on policies and procedures related to crisis services program or service planning, evaluation, implementation, and monitoring.
    • Provides technical assistance to program managers by defining needs and resources and drafts and enters contracts into the Contract Action Request (CAR) portal.
    • Reviews and analyzes service provider budgets and staffing levels; provide recommendations to Crisis Services Coordinator. Maintains positive relationships with providers and other partners.
    • Makes presentations to advocacy groups, civic and community organizations, and/or contractors/provides to inform them of crisis programs, and to enlist their cooperation and participation in program activities.
    • Assists crisis services providers in utilizing a web-based platform to collect crisis data information and dispatch mobile crisis responders or respond to mobile crisis response dispatches.
    • Leads, serves on, and/or participates in crisis-related workgroups and committees.

    Required skills:

    • Applicants must be well organized and able to successfully manage multiple work priorities.
    • Existing knowledge around crisis services operations and regulations or the ability and willingness to develop expertise in this area.
    • Strong analytical skills, particularly in interpreting crisis services data and making informed recommendations.
    • Professional oral and written communication skills are essential.
    • Sound judgement and strong critical thinking skills are needed to be successful in this role.
    • The ideal candidate must have the ability to collaborate with others and work as a team player.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Substitutions may be allowed.

    • Experience or education in crisis services, behavioral health, or public health is preferred, along with the ability to manage complex projects and navigate state regulations.

    • Professional experience working in program management or direct crisis services such as 988, Mobile Crisis Response, Emergency Room Enhancement, or other crisis programs is preferred.
