Job Location: This position will be located at Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 West High Street in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Why you’ll love this position:This is a new position and is a unique opportunity to support the data needs for both the Missouri Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and statewide Operational Excellence (OpEx) program, both located within the Office of Administration.
The PDMP works under the direction of the Joint Oversight Task Force for Prescription Drug Monitoring and is responsible for the collection and oversight of all Schedule II, III, or IV controlled substance dispensations within the State of Missouri. This is a new position and will offer the candidate the opportunity to create a system of reports within the PDMP that will be utilized by healthcare providers throughout the state. These reports will be data-driven and help achieve improved outcomes for the citizens of Missouri.
The OpEx team supports the Governor’s Office and executive agencies in continuously improving how we deliver services to meet our citizen’s needs using data driven decision making. This position will support both our customer experience and process improvement programs through data validation, data analysis, and data visualization to gain insights and understand performance of the priorities we support.

- Create and maintain a system of ongoing reports based on statewide PDMP data.
- Create and analyze a system of ongoing reports/dashboards for individual prescribers and dispensers.
- Create and analyze drug dispensation data reports statewide.
- Analyze Missouri data to compare with national industry standards.
- Provide data to appropriately fulfill requests from federal agencies and national associations.
- Assist providers with individual data requests.
- Assist PDMP administration during out of office periods.
- Partner with various stakeholders to understand data needs and develop appropriate reports and dashboards.
- Assist OpEx with data validations and statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and action insights from customer feedback and operational data.
- Lead discussions that highlight key findings, opportunities for improvement, and recommendations for stakeholders based on key performance measures and program goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s degree and three years of data analysis information experience are preferred. Substitutions allowed. Experience with data visualization platforms, such as Tableau and Qualtrics, is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in the utilization of concepts associated with Lean Six Sigma.
- Highly proficient with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep Builder, and Excel.
- Experience with data warehouses, writing queries, using SQL, and developing reports.
- Understand the rules associated with handling protected health information (PHI).
- Ability to work in a team environment to drive problem-solving, with excellent communication skills to interact with customers and determine reporting requirements.
- Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and complete task with a sense of urgency .
