Wake County has an exciting opportunity in the
Finance Department as an
Insurance Risk Analyst!Essential functions:- Manage the County’s insurance and bonding program in conjunction with departments, third party broker and carriers
- Provides contractual review for insurance language, including establishing insurance requirements to mitigate exposures
- Prepares and monitors the annual budget for the County’s risk management division including allocating and billing back claim expenditures to departments
- Oversees the actuarial review of the County’s self-insurance programs
- Prepares loss reporting for County leadership, Risk Team and County departments as needed
- Monitors compliance with CMS Section 111 Medicare reporting for liability claims and annual recertification
- Serves as non-systems administrator for the County’s claims reporting and management system

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Two years of experience in risk management or commercial insurance
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - NC Insurance License and/or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) Certification
- Public entity experience

- Microsoft skills are required to include heavy use of Excel pivot tables, charts and graphs
