    Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Employee Management Division located at 601 Brasilia Ave
    Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops, implements, and manages the departmental onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Identifies training and development needs within the department through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with division managers and front-line workforce.
    • Assists division in creating and maintaining departmental training plans and training schedules for every position and role.
    • Provides initial and ongoing refresher supervisor and manager training for department.
    • Develops training programs for staff required to meet position minimum qualifications, assists divisions and supervisors with training materials.
    • Designs and maintains learning aids such as handbooks, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and knowledge validation tests.
    • Notifies, tracks, and records continuing education regarding required certifications, licenses, compliance, and safety related training for current employees.
    • Manages and maintains the departments Learn LMS, creating content, tracking course enrollment and completion, and consulting with human resources regarding departmental needs and issues.
    • Coordinates and schedules staff for City wide compliance training as needed by position.
    • Coordinates and manages all internship programs for the department including training schedules and project completion (Bright Future, College, High School).
    • Assists in the implementation of new programs for the department.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in business or public sector administration to include at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience with at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs. Preference for experience in creating, managing and directing training programs.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
