This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Operations Team. What you’ll do: - Perform manual labor in connection with the receiving, handling, and storing of building materials and other similar items.
- Complete a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings, facilities vehicles, and equipment.
- Maintain grounds for buildings overseen through horticultural care, miscellaneous debris and trash disposal, snow removal and salt application.
- Assist in cleaning of parking lots and patching and painting asphalt.
- Perform light electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs, and painting.
- Execute assignments in the form of work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Receive general supervision from a maintenance supervisor.
- Travel to other facilities (within a 2-hour radius) to provide occasional assistance.
- Prioritize excellent customer service for wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license.
- Ability to understand and carry out time-sensitive instructions independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate gas and hand-powered lawn maintenance tools and equipment.
- Safety-first mindset with understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Ability to properly lift and carry 50 lbs.
- General knowledge of grounds keeping and light trades work.
Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience and knowledge of general maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge in a variety of trade areas including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
- Ability to operate mowing machinery, tractors, and/or motorized equipment.

*This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces.
