This position will be located at 1659 E. Elm St., Jefferson City MO.
The Planning and Development (P&D) Program’s team is one that thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and diverse setting that emphasizes professionalism without losing sight of the importance of having fun.
- Direct the development of state park and historic site Conceptual Development Plans ( https://mostateparks.com/CDP ).
- Lead the Division in strategic planning efforts, providing guidance on planning frameworks and methodologies.
- Lead and/or support special projects and planning initiatives.
- Prepare maps and perform spatial analysis utilizing ArcGIS Pro.
- Analyze, interpret, and effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external stakeholder meetings.
- Conduct research and prepare reports associated with outdoor recreation and Missouri State Parks.
- Oversee multiple projects at once, while shifting priorities as necessary.
- Provide team support as needed.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Park Management, Parks and Recreation, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Botany, Biology, Natural Sciences, Geography, GIS, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed).
- (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
- Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to walk long distances on rough terrain.
