    Full-time position available with the Health Department, Behavioral Health & Injury Prevention Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
    Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Occasionally works on call hours, weekends, and evenings

    Responsibilities

    This is a professional, highly complex and responsible administrative position tasked with ensuring the efficient daily operation of the Opioid Investigation Program, funding oversight and grant management within the program.
    • Facilitates program management by attending to a variety of highly complex and difficult administrative tasks.
    • Supervises assigned staff and for the coordination of all assigned projects, promotions, and grant required deliverables including operations analysis, budget, personnel matters, and operating rules and regulations.
    • Uses considerable initiative and independent judgement.
    • Supervises staff members responsible for conducting investigations, including interviewing clients and contacts as necessary to obtain required information on all assigned nonfatal overdoses.
    • Properly interprets and makes decisions in conformance with established laws, regulations, and policies.
    • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and submits oral and written reports.
    • Presents technical material in a clear, precise manner that can be easily understood by a variety of groups.
    • Assists in the investigation of all nonfatal overdose incidents, particularly those that are conducive to epidemiological follow-up.
    • Assures the implementation of appropriate control and intervention measures with emphasis on overdose prevention, as well as some linkage to care for overdose contacts.
    • Exercises limited independent judgment and initiative within the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention Division.
    • Maintains positive working relationships with partners throughout the KC Health Department and the community at large.
    • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and a working understanding of those with lived experience that involves substance use disorder.
    • Performs other assigned duties.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.; OR an accredited Master's degree in Public Health and two (2) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.; OR a High School Diploma and eight (8) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields. Must pass a preemployment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
