Description: Job Description: The Database Administrator Senior is responsible for the installation of the database software, new releases and upgrades and supporting products. Assist in forecasting long term database needs and support requirements. Design solutions to complex technical and data problems. Support existing and new project data needs. Serve as database resource for all of Information Technology Services. Identify , test, and architect inclusion of security tools to protect county data.
Salary: Hiring Salary: $ 115,000-135,000 USD Annually Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

Schedule: This position operates on a four-, or five-day work week Monday-Thurs 40 hours/week. This position is hybrid with one day in office.
Essential Duties: - Installs database software, new releases and upgrades, and supporting products. Use independent initiative, with little or no supervision. Coordinate physical changes through test, code and implementation.
- Create and manage multiple databases, tablespaces and indexes. Determine database technology, servers used, data structures, maintenance requirements and backup and recovery requirements. Design logical and physical databases. Establish database parameters. Establish standards and procedures for database administration.
- Monitor, tune, diagnose and resolve problems with the databases and their performance. Promptly determine root causes of problems to facilitate rapid resolution. Analyze historical trends and anticipate expected future requirements. Manage databases up to current security standards. Determine appropriate permissions and monitoring tools to ensure compliance with security standards. Modify databases and applications to optimize processing performance. Refresh databases as requested . Develop and maintain a backup and recovery strategy for all databases. Confer with user request.
- Train lower-classified positions within database administration in more advanced database management procedures and diagnostics. Assess skills, experience and performance capabilities to assign appropriate tasks .

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Plus, a minimum of 5 year s of related experience
- OR any combination of education and experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Experience with Microsoft SQL
- Experience with Oracle Cloud at Customer and OCI
- Proficiency with advanced database tuning and performance troubleshooting
- Proficiency with data migrations, administration, patching, upgrading, back and recovery
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Window and Linux operating systems
