    Position Description

    Tacoma Power's Power Management Division is looking for a Energy Programs System Administrator to join their team! In this role you will serve as Power Management’s Customer Energy Solutions (CES) data and systems administrator for in-house and third-party software products.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Provides functional support and coordinates critical technical support for users of CES data systems.
    • Performs a wide variety of analytical duties to develop and execute strategies to integrate current, historic and future CES data system’s information with the utility’s SAP Enterprise system and City of Tacoma and Tacoma Public Utilities’ datalake.
    • Maintains tracking and project workflows for I937 compliance involving conservation savings and other customer energy management programs.
    • Secures documentation of energy savings and expenditures, implements protocols for CES data integrity and security.
    • Manages projects and complex workflow designs related to program design, development and end-use data collection.
    • Assists in preparing several required Federal and State reports but not limited to Energy Independence Act (EIA), Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) and others for compliance.
    • Serves as CES’s data and systems software administrator for in-house and third party products such as iEnergy (DSMC); Trade Ally Connect (TAC); Public User Interface (PUX), Docusign, and SharePoint ensuring accurate, timely processing and payment of over $10-12 million/biennium in conservation and renewable energy incentives to residential, commercial and industrial customers. Coordinates critical day-to-day operational and maintenance needs of internal data systems users.
    • Communicates and trains staff on CES internal and supporting data systems.
    • Prioritizes information needs for CES data system program enhancements and new program development. Creates and maintains complex process workflows with multiple branching paths.
    • Directs ongoing efforts to integrate CES data systems with historic program data from SAP and utility data lake to improve tracking of conservation, renewable energy, and demand response projects and programs, and to aid in market segmentation efforts.
    • Manage the contract with outside third party product vendor(s).
    • Serves as project lead over integrated data collection reporting tools from existing sources and/or SAP to allow for reporting of CES’s program results.
    • Develops and maintains protocols for CES’s data integrity and security.
    • Serves as Power Management (PM) DocuSign and SharePoint administrator.
    • Designs methods for system automation of data input, maintenance, and reporting.
    • Recommends specific actions to managers based on needs forecast, analyzes alternative courses of action as pertains to information processing workflows, organization and technical resources.
    • Generates and presents ad hoc reports and recommendations to senior managers to support the information management and operational goals of CES and Power Management.
    • Represents CES at internal and external data management meetings involving Utility Technical Services (UTS), City Information and Technology (IT), outside consultants and vendors.
    • Conducts general administrative functions such as computer asset management and other needs as requested to meet and document Department directives and goals.
    • Supports data and information needs required to complete Power Management conservation and renewable initiatives, including reporting to demonstrate achievement of milestones for Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).


    Qualifications

    Minimum Education*
    Bachelor's degree public or business administration, information technology or directly related field

    Minimum Experience*
    5 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst, user support or database work in area related to assignment including 1 year prior at senior or lead level

    *Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education

    Desired Qualifications:
    Experience in business intelligence, data systems applications, including data management, relational data systems, and business process management. Ability to communicate technical concepts using tact, patience, and courtesy. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

    Knowledge of utilization and conservation of hydroelectric and other renewable generated power; interrelationship of generation, transmission, distribution, and conservation of an electric utility; experience with solving analytical problems using third-party cloud-based data systems.
