    The Auto Title Technician Senior serves as a mentor to technicians whileperforming a variety of detailed motor vehicle paperwork and public contact work in support of the Motor Vehicle Division of the Clerk and Recorder's Office while acting as an agent for the State of Colorado. Collects taxes and fees for motor vehicle titles and registrations for use by governmental and other official enforcement entities. Acts as a Notary to notarize legal documents. Assists with maintaining inventory to ensure office efficiency. May handle some leadership duties during temporary absence of supervisor and manager.

    Ideal Candidate: This position is a great fit for someone who is energic, enjoys working with the public and is a team player. Spanish or other foreign language skills and/or experience working with individuals from various cultures and communities is highly valued.

    Target Hiring Range: $23.00/ hr to $29.00/ hr

    Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills. Additional compensation for Spanish bilingual skills is available.

    Schedule:

    This position requires regular on-site/in-office work and operates on a 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday, 7am-5:30 pm). Must be available to occasionally work at any of the five motor vehicle branches, but this position is based in our Lakewood office .

    Essential Duties:

    The Auto Title Technician is responsible for :

    • Mentoring staff by assisting with difficult cases and is available to answer questions.


    • Assisting with supervisory tasks during management's absence.


    • Examining and determining legal acceptance of documents pertaining to motor vehicle titling, registration, ownership taxes, license fees and sales taxes.


    • Collecting fees and/or taxes as required by law and in accordance to statutory guidelines.


    • Assisting the public with motor vehicle specific inquiries, including researching and resolving complex tax, title, registration related problems and processing required paperwork.


    • Assisting with general election and marriage license questions.


    • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards and procedures, implementing changes as dictated by new legislation and the Department of Revenue.


    • Notarizing legal documents and maintaining inventory in the office.

    Minimum Qualifications :

    • High school diploma or equivalent, with A


    • Minimum of one year auto titling and registration experience.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 2 Years of progressive advancement in auto titling and registration is highly preferred.

    • Ability to explain complex rules and regulations to customers who may be unfamiliar with or challenge the statute driven requirements for fees.


    • Ability to problem solve by utilizing resources/researching to find solutions that are best for the customer.
