The Family Support Division (FSD), Office of Workforce and Community Initiatives (OWCI) is seeking candidates to fill a Program Specialist position. This position will be located in St. Louis City based at 3101 Chouteau, St. Louis, MO.
Some travel is required and may require overnight stays. Remote work is not eligible in this position. This position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Coordinate services across Department, Divisions and other agencies to assist employment and training participants to become self-sufficient, and provide OWCI benefits and resources.
- Evaluate Workforce Development program trends and coordinating with the training and program staff to develop new initiatives.
- Attend community meetings focused on specific initiatives (transportation, childcare, housing, employment, etc.).
- Participate in workgroups, taskforces, or committees to provide knowledge and expertise on DSS services.
- Create and deliver presentations to different size groups on DSS programs and resources.
- Organize and/or lead workgroup meetings.
- Create and manage partnerships with city, county and state officials, outside agencies and other stakeholders.
- Engage with employers, non-profits, local educational agencies, and service providers regarding their workforce needs to identify barriers and solutions to those barriers.
- Draft detailed reports regularly on activities, events and/or conferences.
- Exercise significant independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities with general administrative direction.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Two or more years of experience in a professional or technical job classification with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
ORA Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
and,
Four or more years of professional or technical experience providing social services; or conducting investigations or audits of social service providers, recipients, and/or applicants.
