    Recreation/Music Therapist

    St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center - South, 5300 Arsenal St., St. Louis, MO 63139

    Semi-Monthly Salary: $1,830.60 * Annual Salary: $43,934.40

    Scheduled Hours: Day Shift (Sat/Sun Off) Work Area: FRP Cottages

    St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center, South Campus, is seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for our open full time Recreation/Music Therapist. We aspire to be a team of talented, compassionate professionals helping our clients in their personal journey of healing, resilience, and recovery, through our exceptional care and our use of the highest quality evidence-based practice. The Recreation/Music Therapist plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery-based environment.

    Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Assessment of basic skill functioning related to services provided through the Rehabilitation Services Department.
    • Planning and implementing a wide range of treatment groups designed to meet the social, vocational, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of clients.
    • Case management including developing and maintaining individual treatment plans and related documentation, individual therapy, goal setting, family contact, and client advocacy.
    • Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, program meetings, and department meetings.
    • Competency in the implementation of assigned psychosocial program principles and procedures, as well as program and departmental documentation expectations.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • College degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field.
    • CTRS or Music Therapist Board Certification preferred, but not required
