Job Summary Performs specialized work in the area of recreation and leisure services. Responsible for performing activities of average difficulty at an assigned recreation area. Under general supervision, performs tasks including leading, supervising, and officiating at a variety of sports, games, and programs. May be responsible for a City of Orlando-wide program and may work out of several centers of different levels. Exercises some initiative and independent judgment in planning and conducting playground or center activities for all ages. Assists in administrative procedures involved in the design and conduct of recreation programs. Work is reviewed through periodic observation by a Regional Center Supervisor while in progress and through reports submitted. Some work is performed outdoors, and employees are exposed to weather conditions, including heat. This position requires work on nights and weekends. This position differs from a Recreation Specialist in that the position is assigned to a Regional Center and the employee in this class serves as assistant supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years of experience in organized recreation and/or leisure services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License
required at the time of application. Criminal background check and polygraph
required. Some college coursework desired.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
