  • Job Description

    This is a confidential position handling sensitive driving records, medical notes, test results, and reports. This position coordinates Medical Screenings and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing. In this position, you will work with Safety to assist with the overall Medical Surveillance program. You will also handle the administration of the Federal Motor Clearinghouse Safety Administration (FMCSA) consent forms for CDL drivers, assist with registration in the clearing house, run both Full and Limited queries, and collaborate with Fleet Services. In this position you will do COVID-19 tracing and collaborate with Safety on regulations, updates, and OSHA reporting as part of the Medical Surveillance program. You may assist with ADA Accommodation requests and Worker’s Compensation claims on a backup basis by working with Analysts and Third Party Administrators overseeing those areas within the Unit.

    This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information.

    Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.

    Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

    EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience.

    Relevant Experience is defined as: combination of experience with coordinating medical screenings for safety-sensitive positions, DOT coordination, Covid Tracing, and/or administering protected leaves (FMLA,CFRA,PDL) and ADA Accommodations.

    License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
