    Full-time position available with the Municipal Court Department, Traffic Violations Bureau Division located at 511 East 11th Street
    Salary Range: $18.37-$28.01/hour
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with the exception of Wednesday, 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains the accuracy and completeness of official case records from opening to final disposition. Verify and update citizens' information.
    • Receives and reviews incoming documents to determine conformity to appropriate rules, practices, and/or court requirements.
    • Files documents meeting requirements.
    • Scans documents, maintains quality control of scanned documents and verifies that documents have been docketed to the correct case.
    • Assists the public with case information and archive information.
    • Answers department phone calls, handles ones pertaining to your duties, and directs others to the appropriate staff.
    • Provides exceptional customer service to the public, attorneys, and visitors to the court, whether in person, through email, or over the telephone while providing accurate answers to questions regarding procedural information, the case docket, or general court information.
    • Respects the diversity of individuals, listens to their concerns, and open to new ideas and constructive criticism.
    • Exercises independent judgment.
    • Flexible and adaptable.
    • Organizes work activities and develops efficient work processes.
    • Orchestrates multiple activities to accomplish a goal.

    • Prepares clear and concise letters, memos, and routine reports.

    • Processes cash bonds for the citizens.
    • Processes appeals.
    • Processes bonds for bonding companies.
    • Uses multiple court systems.
    • Processes citizens' court payments.
    • Processes cash and bonding company bonds.
    • Processes refund requests.
    • Processes daily mailed-in payments from citizens.
    • Processes Bond Recognizance forms.
    • Processes Letter of Compliances.
    • Obtains cashier drawer to process payment daily.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES high school graduation and 1 year of public or private sector experience in customer service work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
