- Direct planning staff to coordinate and prioritize tasks that ensure maximum performance and minimum delay in the progress of the planning team including but not limited to:
- obtaining statistics and data,
- scheduling meetings,
- developing an organized process for managing paperwork and notes related to each project,
- directing and acting as intermediary between the team and the initiative’s sponsor.
- Evaluate departmental policies and procedures.
- Evaluate workflows.
- Develop free-standing databases and tools that support data collection activities unsupported by OAIT that support strategic initiatives or process improvement projects.
- Provide technical planning assistance to the divisions of the department and work with section colleagues to coordinate workflow for each initiative.
- Prepare proposal for funding from federal, state, and non-profit agencies that supports the overall strategic aims of the department.
- Work with division staff to charter teams with goals, policies, and procedures suitable to complete a project plan.
- Direct development of summary statistics, analysis, and reports that support strategic initiative and process improvement teams as they develop their charters and deliberate options.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in performance of responsibilities; receive general administrative direction and feedback on conformance of projects and products to broad agency objectives and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Six or more years of professional level experience, relevant/similar to the above listed job duties.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of two years of experience is required)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: DevOps administration, Lean/Six Sigma Yellow, Green, or Black Belt, Experience working with sql, html, java, java script, css, or similar languages. Familiar with principles of project management.
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
