    POSITION OVERVIEW
    This role is crucial in supporting both ongoing and future employee development programs and initiatives within the Performance Management division.
    By aligning with the 2025 strategic plan, this position aims to enhance the professional growth and effectiveness of our workforce.
    The incumbent will be responsible for the need analysis, program management, designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that meet the evolving needs of our employees, ensuring their skills and knowledge are up-to-date and aligned with organizational goals. Furthermore, this role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to identity training needs, develop comprehensive learning solutions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and development.

    This position will involve the design and development of comprehensive training programs that cater to the evolving needs of our employees.

    This includes:
    • Needs Analysis: Conducting thorough assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across the organization. Advise leaders to define and set performance targets.
    • Program Design: Creating tailored training programs that incorporate a variety of instructional methods to engage different learning styles. This could include workshops, eLearning modules, hands-on activities, coaching, and collaborative projects.
    • Communication: Adept at tailoring communication style to suit all organizational levels.
    • Content Development: Developing high quality training materials that are both informative and engaging. This includes creating presentations, manuals, interactive modules, and other resources.
    • Implementation: Coordinating the rollout and on-going management of training programs, ensuring that they are delivered effectively and efficiently. This may involve scheduling sessions, booking venues, and liaising with trainers and participants.
    • Evaluation and Feedback: Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of the training program through feedback and performance metrics, using this data to refine and improve future training initiatives.
    • Continuous Improvement: Staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in training and development to ensure our programs remain relevant and effective. This also includes seeking out and integrating new technologies and methodologies.
    • Data Driven Decision Making: Expertise in creating clear and concise reports. Leveraging data analytics to drive informed decision making ensuring strategic actions are backed by quantitative insights to enhance organizational outcomes.
    • Technology: Skilled in leveraging technologies for training and development, including eLearning tools, Learning Management Systems, and virtual platforms.


    The incumbent will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure that training initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and contribute to the professional growth and development of our workforce. The ultimate aim is to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, where employees are empowered to achieve their full potential.

    TRAVEL

    If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

    Pay Range
    $33.49 - $42.71

    Hours
    Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

    Hours may change depending on departmental needs.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

    Leads multiple process improvement teams Develops project work plans, project management and periodic assessment Facilitates the development of stakeholder analysis and communication plans for process improvement teams Identifies, collects, and researches to complete data analysis Makes recommendations to project teams and recommends organizational change utilizing appropriate talent Advises process leaders and team leaders in defining/identifying key measurers and setting performance targets Develops and improves models and methodologies for the department Reviews and critiques the work of functional team staff Communicates project and program information to all levels of the organization

    City Government
