    We are seeking a team member who is able to:

    • Apply critical thinking related to financial reporting.
    • Provide outstanding customer service to the multiple agency contacts we serve.
    • Formulate an opinion independently.


    What you’ll do:

    • Prepare and analyze statewide financial reports, including but not limited to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Analyze and provide comments on the impact of proposed Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements and their effect on the State-wide financial statements.
    • Extract, analyze, and report on financial data retrieved from the statewide accounting system.
    • Assist with the maintenance, review, analysis, and evaluation of the statewide accounting system.
    • Provide customer service support to all State agency personnel regarding various accounting issues.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree. Substitutions may be allowed (for example, but not limited to, professional certifications or additional relevant experience)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
    • Experience in interpreting and applying GAAP.
    • Knowledge of Governmental Accounting and GASB Standards.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel.
    • Knowledge of the statewide accounting system and data warehouse reports.
    • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
    • Remain flexible, self-motivated, and work independently or as a member of a group with little supervision.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with others in the unit and agency customers.
