Why you’ll love this position: The Accounting area coordinates the Department’s centralized accounting and fiscal program. The Accounting personnel process the payment of Department obligations, record expenditures, serve as a liaison to th e Office of Administration (OA) , Di vision of Accounting and the State Auditor’s Office, provide financial data to the rest of the Department, invest Department funds, prepare all cash receipt documents for submission to the Department of Revenue, prepare and approve the Department’s payroll, maintain the Department’s fixed asset records, and prepare and revise the internal accounting manuals.
- Review employee expense accounts to determine compliance with Department and State travel regulations and process expense account payments on SAM II and MODocs.
- Enter payments in MissouriBuys and SAM II, including all Federal Express, UMB credit card, WEX Fuel invoices and UPS.
- Review and process interagency bill payments on SAM II.
- Requests cancellation or replacement of vendor checks when appropriate.
- Review monthly outlawed check listing and follow up on re-issuance.
- Visit the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled to perform fixed asset and inventory reviews on an annual basis.
- Receive and mail all vendor, payroll, and expense checks for staff within the department and outside vendors.
- Update Accounting Manuals and training guidelines.
- Coordinate the movement of items to store in the Surplus cage.
- Tracking surplus items and posting to Mo. Recycle and/or Gov Deals.
- Prepares daily cash receipts through the electronic Central Bank eDeposit for bank deposit and records receipts on SAM II Financial System.
- Scan various financial documents into OnBase and review for accuracy before committing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Accounting.

Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from high school or High School Equivalency.
- Two or more years of progressively responsible support tasks involving financial or related duties.
