This position will be assigned to the
North Construction Crew that is based out of the
Northern Regional Officeat
600 West Lockling,
Brookfield, MO. Shift is Monday through Thursday (four, 10-hour days per week), 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Work assignments are located over a large geographic area of Missouri that will require travel and overnight stays during the workweek, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
- Complete skilled work assignments in multiple building trades: Carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, masonry, roofing, drywall, heating and cooling and all phases of concrete work
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment; and comply with random drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to understand and complete assignments received orally or by written orders from sketches, penciled layouts, or blueprints
- Perform material estimating and make material purchases, as needed
- Safely haul equipment needed to work sites when needed
- The ability to work well with others, willingness to learn, and a positive outlook will assist the candidate in being successful in this position.
This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator’s license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required, and if you do not currently possess these license/certifications, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

- Building and Construction : Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings.
- Electrical : Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance.
- Plumbing and Pipefitting : Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage.
- Physical Strength and Agility : Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work.
- Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
- Interpersonal Skills:(**) Treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Considers and responds appropriately to the needs and feelings of different people in different situations.
- Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Four to six years of on-the-job training in building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
