Description:Jefferson County is one of the largest counties in Colorado and is located just west of Denver in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The County building is located in Golden, home to the Coors Brewing Company, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the Colorado School of Mines. It is a 20-minute drive or 35-minute train ride from downtown Denver.
About the Treasurer /Pub lic Trustee Office :
The Jefferson County Treasurer is an elected official, and all activities of the T reasurer’s office are specifically mandated by the Colorado Constitution and state statutes. The Treasurer collects all real and personal property taxes for the county, the school district, all cities and more than 180 special districts that operate in the county . Per state law, the Treas u r er is also the Public Trustee. The Public Trustee department is a division within the Treasu r er’s off i ce handling Deed Releases and foreclosures with Jefferson County.
The
Public Trustee Assistant is responsible for a high level of administrative support, dat a entry , coordination, and communication in support of the Public Trustee department within the Treasurer's office . This position serves as the initial point person for all interactions with employees and members of the community, demonstrating poise, tact and diplomacy with each situation.
The ideal candidate must have the proven ability to move between diverse tasks with ease and must thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment keeping track of deadlines, prioritizing, and anticipating needs for deed-release completion . This person must be proactive and relentlessly detail oriented.

Schedule : This position operates on a four-day, eight-hour work week, Monday through Thursday , 7:30am-4:00pm. This position is required to be on-site at the Treasurer’s office, located at the Courts and Administration building in Golden.
Compensation :
Hiring Range: $22.00 - $24.00 USD Hourly Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties: - Duties include a wide variety of general office support and receptionist duties such as answering telephones, providing information, documenting calls; performing data entry, receiving and responding to inquiries; assisting internal and external contacts; resolving problems, or referring inquiries to the appropriate personnel , and compiling reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees, customers and visitors .
- Perform opening and closing procedures to prepare for customers and ensure work area is secured and organized at close of business.
- Complete c omplex data entry , electronic database file management and maintenance .
- Retrieve information from systems, performs research, and compile and review information to create reports.
- Process paperwork, assuming responsibility for correctness of spelling, punctuation, grammar, format, and accuracy of information.
- Facilitates communication by coordinating clear dialogue between department and division staff. Maintains positive relationships with staff members. Coordinates staff meetings and serves as meeting recorder. Participates in planning meetings. Maintains positive public image for department and division.
- Performs administrative tasks in support of the department and division, including producing reports, creating and maintaining documents, and completing projects. Ensures all provided material is accurate . Prepares supplies and materials for staff usage. Assists with front desk coverage. Receives mail, documents, faxes and packages. Orders supplies and requests maintenance.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minim um Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Plus , a minimum of one year of related work experience in an office environment (clerical, customer service or administration).
- Or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Two to Three years of experience as a public trustee , preferably in a government setting
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks, Gov Ease , or GTS software highly preferred
- Quick learner and ability to understand complex business issues, such as Deed Releases, with demonstrated ability to complete large volumes of work efficiently and effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to remain calm and diffuse the situation when dealing with highly emotional individuals viaphone and in person
- Team Player, with the proven a bility to work well with diverse and different personalities
- A ct as a culture agent, being the first impression and interaction for many external stakeholders
