This position will be located within the institution, with a daily work schedule range from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. An alternative work schedule may be required to include evening/s and weekends within a forty hour week. This schedule will include one evening a week and one weekend a month to ensure reentry services are provided to the entire population. In addition, this position will require occasional travel/overnight responsibilities.
This professional position will serve as a coordinator and guidance provider for the Missouri Department of Corrections regarding reentry services within the institution. The Institutional Reentry Coordinator will engage with representatives from partnering state agencies, reentry providers, faith based organizations and local community stakeholders, thus ensuring reentry services are being provided to the residents residing within the facility. This position will also be responsible for the oversight and operations of the Reentry Center in collaboration with the Division of Adult Institutions and Probation and Parole team members. The Institutional Reentry Coordinator will serve an integral part in assisting clients with successful reintegration into the community and the reduction barriers that hinder success after incarceration.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following: direct supervision of reentry team members, public speaking, developing and monitoring projects/programs with public and private organizations, conducting training programs, providing assistance to reentry service providers and agencies, and scheduling client services.
Minimum Qualifications: Two or more years of experience as a Corrections Case Manager, or Probation and Parole Officer,
ORSix or more years of professional experience in reentry services, corrections case management, adult probation and parole case management, substance use case management, or education (teacher), of which one or more years must have been within an adult correctional facility.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of two years of experience, including one year working within an adult correctional facility, is required)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: - Working knowledge of the mission and vision for the Missouri Department of Corrections,
- Ability and willingness to support and articulate the important functions and priorities of reentry services
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in working both independently and as a team member with staff at all levels in the Department
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills including listening skills
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations.
