    Minimum Qualifications
    Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus two (2) years administrative and customer service experience which included data entry and working in a highly regulated detail-oriented environment.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    This position is responsible for ensuring various components of compliance with 49 CFR 1542.209, in regards to airport access media - to include data entry, taking and submitting fingerprints, filing, training, and all other required aspects. This position also issues, audits, and maintains key systems. Additionally, this position conducts security audits of sterile area concessionaire lease areas. All activities are conducted in a highly public setting, requiring excellent attention to detail and customer service.

    ASSESSMENT

    A skills assessment will be required for this position.

    DRIVER’S REQUIREMENT

    This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA .

    This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) requisite . To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City’s Driver Record Evaluation Standards.

    ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL

    This position is categorized as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and in some cases when they are not scheduled.

    CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS CHECK

    The top candidate will be subject to a minimum 10 year criminal background check and security threat assessment.

    $23.44 - $26.83

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

    Reviews applications for Unescorted Access ID/Media, documents, and other supporting information to determine an applicant’s eligibility for airport-issued identification access media. Evaluates various applications for accuracy, completeness, required training documentation, and appropriateness of requests. Accesses confidential and security-sensitive information utilizing the access control system, and exercises independent decision-making to determine validity of applications and supporting documentation. Ensures accuracy of Personal Identifiable Information entered into the automated access control system and other access control databases. Captures biometric (fingerprints) of applicants to ensure the content and quality are acceptable for CHRC and enrollment in the access control system. Ensures a current Security Threat Assessment approval is received from TSA prior to issuing security access media and notifies tenants and other employers that applicants are approved for badge issuance. Oversees security training and maintains security training records. Instructs applicants in the proper use and application of various security access media. Collects fees for badging or keying services and reconciles and reports Austin Bergstrom International Airport revenue collected to the Finance division. Maintains the security and confidentiality of the sensitive security information and data contained in the access control office; and stores and protects records in accordance with Federal regulations, COA Aviation policies and procedures, and Texas retention laws. Creates, issues, activates, and deactivates lock and key access for various areas of the airport; maintains key control databases. Resolves customer inquiries received in-person, by phone, and electronically in a timely manner. Exhibits quality service in support of the AUS mission and brand while interacting with a variety of internal and external customers.
