Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Telework schedule available after 6-month probationary period completed

Responsibilities
A Server Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and security of an organization's databases. It also plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of an organization's data infrastructure.
- Installs and configures database servers and related software.
- Sets up database infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Designs and implements database schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
- Optimizes database structures for performance and scalability.
- Monitors database performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Performs database tuning to ensure optimal performance.
- Develops and implements backup and recovery strategies.
- Performs regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.
- Implements and enforces database security policies.
- Manages user access and permissions to databases.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks such as patching and updates.
- Cleans up and archives old data as necessary.
- Ensures data integrity and quality through regular checks and validations.
- Implements data cleansing procedures to maintain data accuracy.
- Plans for future database growth and capacity needs.
- Recommends hardware and software upgrades as necessary.
- Troubleshoots database issues and provides technical support to users.
- Resolves database-related incidents and problems promptly.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Generates reports on database performance, usage, and other metrics.
- Works closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Communicates database-related issues and updates to the relevant teams.
- Develops and tests disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Conducts regular disaster recovery drills to ensure preparedness.
- Ensures databases comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Assists with audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Automates routine database tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 years of technology experience; OR a n equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience.
Preference given to those with server hardware or storage systems experience. Other Information

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
