    Minimum Qualifications
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in a field related to public health/human services programming, planning or program management, one (1) year of which was in a lead or supervisory capacity.
    • Master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of the required work experience.
    • Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum substitution of four (4) years

    Position Overview
    The Public Health Program Supervisor will supervise five persons including three Disease Surveillance Specialists and two Patient Representatives. In addition to supervising direct reports, they will also be responsible for ensuring the front desk runs smoothly, billing information is kept up to date, ECW is accurate, billing is processed quickly and eSHARES are entered timely.

    Immunization Requirement:
    • Due to high-risk areas, Austin Public Health employees must comply with the department’s immunization policy.


    Travel:
    • If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.


    Grant Funded Position
    • This position is grant-funded, meaning its financial support comes from allocated funds that may be modified, reduced, or canceled at the discretion of the City of Austin or the grant provider.

    Salary and Benefits:
    • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package consisting of medical and dental coverage, paid sick, vacation, and personal time, and a retirement plan.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

    Conduct planning, development and evaluation of assigned program. Provide supervision of program implementation. Perform grant writing and management of grant budget. Collaborate with community based organizations. Promote program and provide program information to community. Provide educational and community awareness presentations.

    City Government
