    Overview

VWS professionals coordinate with victims to provide input during the Community Corrections Program selection process, ensuring advocacy and timely updates on client status and progress.

By building a direct line of communication, VWS Specialists guide victims through the complexities of the post-sentencing phase, helping them understand the sentence and their rights and navigating the emotional challenges that may arise. Additionally, VWS Specialists serve as the primary responders for victims who report sexual abuse or harassment and are active members of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) team, bringing critical support and guidance to these sensitive cases.

    • Connects victims with community and system-based advocates, including SAVA, Crossroads Safehouse, ATV, private therapists, and support groups.
