Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Information Technology Division located at 301 West 13th Street
Salary Range: $5,794-$8,833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Manages a comprehensive range of IT technical infrastructure within the Kansas City Convention and Entertainment Facilities including the Convention Center and American Royal Complex.
- Manages and supports internal exhibitor networks, network switches, security camera systems, cellular Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) infrastructure, event management systems and other complex informational infrastructure technologies.
- Ensures seamless operations and optimal performance of all technological components, contributing to a successful and event experience.
- Maintains and monitors the facility's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable internet access for events, exhibition booths, and administrative functions.
- Performs continuous monitoring of network availability
- Manages Wi-Fi SSID's, network VLANs, DHCP Servers, and bandwidth shaping appliances
- Manage servers, workstations, and other IT systems, ensuring systems are updated, secure, and functioning optimally.
- Provides on-site technical support for all IT-related issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems for staff, vendors, and event attendees.
- Maintains an inventory of IT equipment, including computers, projectors, and networking devices, and manages procurement and upgrades as needed.
- Implements and monitors security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Trains staff and event participants on the use of technology and equipment available at the facility, including registration systems and presentation tools.
- Responds to and resolves IT-related incidents and issues promptly to minimize disruption during events.
- Maintains documentation for IT systems, policies, and procedures, including user manuals and troubleshooting guides.
- Works closely with other departments (such as event management and facilities) to ensure seamless integration of technology into events and operations.
- Stays updated on the latest technological trends and recommend improvements to enhance the facility's IT capabilities and user experience.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 4 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and technology experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
