The Addictions Therapist temp will work within our residential and outpatient addictions, mental health, and criminogenic treatment programming with a population that is serving a criminal justice sentence.
This part-time, temporary position is great for anyone currently working at another employer or working on completing additional schooling or certifications!
ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, this position:
- Works as a member of the treatment team providing individual and group treatment sessions to participants in our residential substance use, and aftercare programs.
- Facilitates a variety of client-centered, gender-responsive, substance abuse, mental health, trauma-informed, cognitive restructuring, and life skills groups.
- Conducts substance abuse and/or mental health evaluations.
- Facilitates individual and relational therapy as appropriate.
- Maintains accurate client files.

- Education in theory practice and skills associated with addictions counseling certification in the state of Colorado.
- A Certification as a Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS)
- Knowledge of research-informed practices in Addictions and criminal justice-involved clientele
- Eagerness to apply skills and theory learned in real-life situations and stretch your understanding of the application of theory in the field.
- Enthusiasm to challenge/expand your belief systems about the field, the work, and the clients we serve.
QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, in a behavioral health field as defined by the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Six (6) months of experience providing substance abuse treatment required, preferably in criminal justice or related area.
- Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS), required. Master's degree in related field and experience providing substance use treatment services may substitute for CAS.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire, required.
- Possession of Adult First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications within six (6) months of hire, required.
