    Role

    Community Health Services is seeking a Medical Biller to assist with the daily patient billing processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims related to clinic services, utilizing the Practice Management System.

    The ideal candidate will possess experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Clinic.

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Enters and adjusts patient and billing information on a timely basis in order to meet month end processing, billing deadlines, and statement cycles.
    • Researches charge issues and calls insurance companies to be able to make final decisions on how to process a claim.
    • Answers incoming telephone calls and assists both patients and insurance companies with various inquiries.
    • Posts payments from payers in a timely manner into the Practice Management System.
    • Resolves unpaid and under-paid insurance billings. Refunds overpayments for medical services as needed.
    • Researches, corrects, and re-files rejected claims in order to receive payment.
    • Produces, batches, and submits all electronic claims to appropriate payers.
    • Produces, batches, and mails paper claims to appropriate payers.
    • Monitors Accounts Receivable Aging Report and follows up with payers regarding outstanding claims; resolves all payer payment and billing issues; keeps current on technical issues that could affect full and timely payment of claims that could adversely affect clinic cash flow.
    • Contributes to efforts to expand funding base and maximize billings.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:
    A minimum of three (3) years of healthcare billing experience.

    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
    Must possess a current fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
