    Administrative Support Assistant - General Services

    Department of Revenue

    Location: Truman Building - 301 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO

    HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    The Administrative Support Assistant works in the Mail Service Center processing incoming and outgoing mail and parcels. Candidates must be energetic and motivated to join our fast paced Mail Service Center team.     DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    • Sort incoming department mail
    • Process outgoing mail on inserting equipment (Forerunner or similar equipment)
    • Process mailing documentation on software to be sent to the US Postal Service (Windowbook or similar)
    • Process outgoing postcards on an inkjet system (Buskro or similar equipment)
    • Utilize Software by downloading files to create job layouts, and generate US Postal Service barcodes and tray information (BCC Software or similar)
    • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of USPS processing categories and postage rates


    CORE COMPENTENCIES NEEDED:

    Strategic Thinking Computer Literate Efficient

    Self-directed Attention to Detail Clear Communication

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or certificate of High School Equivalency
    • Comprehensive knowledge of US Postal rates and classifications
    • Ability to lift trays of mail weighing up to 15 pounds
    • Ability to lift tubs of mail weighing up to 35 pounds
    • Ability to transport all-purpose carts of mail weighing approximately 700 pounds with assistance.
