Job Summary Job Description / Nature of Work Performs responsible professional work ensuring the quality management process for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) System within the Orlando Fire Department. Work includes the case reviews, broad Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transport billing and report writing capabilities, statistical analysis, and direct observation of personnel while performing their duties within a classroom setting. In addition to the quality management responsibilities, this position will assist the Training Officer with the Continuing Education Program of Orlando Fire EMS Division. Duties are performed under the general direction of the Emergency Medical Services Assistant Chief and with support with the medical director’s office and OFD EMS Training Officers through conferences and reports and the overall effectiveness of the quality management program.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Emergency Medical Services or Nursing and four (4) years clinical experience at least two (2) of which must have been in an emergency/field setting (hospital emergency room, hospital critical care unit, fire/rescue department, ambulance company, or medevac service); or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must possess and maintain State of Florida or National Registry as a Paramedic, or obtain within six (6) months of hire if already a Registered Nurse (RN) or similar capable medical professional (e.g., physician assistant).
Must possess and maintain the following certifications to instruct, or obtain within nine (9) months of hire: American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS,) instructor, AHA Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and aha Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) instructor or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Instructor.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
