Full-time position available with the Parks and Recreation Department, Planning and Engineering Division, located at 4600 E 63rd St.
Salary Range: $5,794-$8.833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Responsibilities
- Manages multiple projects related to park development, and project management, and/or repairs and improvements for parks, aquatic facilities, trails, playgrounds, athletic fields, and parks jurisdictional streets.
- Ensures all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Develops project scope and estimate; manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs.
- Reports and escalates to management as needed.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
- Manages grant projects.
- Interacts with the public via public meetings.
- Designs or hires a design consultant teams; bids and provides project oversight during construction.
- Uses AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or horticulture and 3 years of responsible experience in the practices of landscape architecture, horticulture or related.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
