Full-time position available with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment Division located at 7300 Hawthorne Road
Salary Range: $22.61-$34.48/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Thursday-Monday, 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

Responsibilities- Onspecting treatment facilities and pumping stations on designated routes.
- Operates equipment used in treatment and pumping operations.
- Collects samples and perform routine tests.
- Operates line valves for in-plant wastewater systems and perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, preventative maintenance and general clean up.
- This position is part of a 24/7 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation.
- Working conditions include working outdoors in all weather conditions, heights and below ground.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 2 years of experience in the installation or reading of water meters, or construction and maintenance of water mains and services. Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in acdordance with the City of KCMO policies. May be required to possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period (appropriate CDL will be determined by the department). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical as prescribed by the City. Preference given to applicants with MDNR Wastewater Certification.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
