Description SALARY $53.54 - $65.09 / Hour
Under general direction, plans and directs the day-to-day all work related to the modification, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plant and pumping station equipment; monitors and coordinates all personnel-related maintenance activities; performs administrative work in planning, management and evaluation and performs related work as required.
Representative DutiesThe following typical tasks and responsibilities are representative of this class. They are descriptive, not limiting.
Essential Duties: Manages maintenance and replacement of all process related equipment to maintain compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements; Manages maintenance and replacement of all related power generation equipment;
Oversees all plant structures, facilities, grounds, roads and mechanical systems at the wastewater treatment plant; Assists in preparing and administering the capital improvement program projects and budgets and supervises expenditures from those budgets; Prepares reports as required to regulatory agencies; Manages, trains and directs the activities of maintenance personnel, reviews and evaluates their performance; Implements safety rules, regulations and emergency procedures and ensures staff is properly trained in these activities.

Minimum QualificationsApplications will be accepted

- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; AND
- Five (5) years’ progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of wastewater facilities, including three (3) years of supervisory experience. OR
- An equivalent combination of training, experience, and certification which provides the capabilities to perform the described duties.
- Possession of a valid Class “C” driver's license

Examination (Weighted: 100%) November 12, 2024 (Tentative) The method of examination may include one or more of the following: written exam; oral exam; evaluation of education, training, experience or other qualifications as shown by the application; or by other information submitted, or by the record; questionnaires submitted to references; or any other appropriate measure of fitness. A minimum passing score of 70% is required.

VACATION: Accrual rate is determined by bargaining unit.
1-4 years of service: 10 days per year.
5-13 years of service: 15 days per year.
14+ years of service: 20 days per year.
VACATION - FIRE SAFETY SHIFT PERSONNEL ONLY:
1-4 years of service: 4.68 (24-hr. duty shifts)
5-15 years of service: 7.02 (24-hr. duty shifts)
16+ years of service: 9.36 (24-hr. duty shifts)
HOLIDAYS: 13 paid holidays per year.
SICK LEAVE: Earned at the rate of one working day per month of service to a maximum of 120 days; portions therafter may be convertible.
ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE: 10 days per year for General Supervisory and Management employees.
